Turtle Beach Atom: New controller for mobile gaming

With the Turtle Beach Atom, the manufacturer has introduced another mobile gaming controller shortly after the Recon Cloud. It is particularly easy to stow away and portable and relies on two separate and magnetic modules.

The Turtle Beach Atom in detail

The Turtle Beach Atom’s two-piece flexible design and adjustable, spring-loaded smartphone clamps make the controller usable with almost any device running Android 8.0 or higher, and even without having to remove the hand case. The design is somewhat reminiscent of the Nacon MG-X or Razer Kishi V2.

The two modules are connected via a 2.4 GHz connection. At the same time, Low Latency Bluetooth ensures a reliable, lag-free connection with the Android smartphones during cloud gaming via Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now, Steam Link and other services.

“Mobile gaming is becoming more and more a part of everyday life. Our Atom controller allows gamers to simply pick up and go without sacrificing quality control,” says Juergen Stark Chairman and CEO of Turtle Beach Corporation.

Console-level gaming

The Turtle Beach Atom Controller features console-like controls that give mobile gamers a familiar feel. The ergonomic shape ensures high comfort for the hands even during long gaming sessions.

At the same time, the gamepad’s battery lasts up to 20 hours and fully charges in just 2.5 hours. The companion app can also be used to set additional functions or search for new games.

The features at a glance

Compact & comfortable: Thanks to the magnets, the two modules of the controller can be connected so that mobile gamers can store the Atom, for example, in the included bag. The ergonomic shape and console-style controls provide a familiar console experience on the go.

Low Latency Connectivity: The controller connects instantaneously to Android 8.0+ smartphones via low-latency Bluetooth. The two independent modules connect via Turtle Beach’s proprietary 2.4 GHz wireless connection.

Ideal for Cloud Gaming: With Xbox Game Pass, GeForce Now, Steam Link and other services, gamers can play popular mobile games and enjoy a console experience regardless of location.

Console-level controls: Equipped with full-size thumbsticks, a D-pad, bumpers, triggers and ABXY, as well as view and menu buttons, the Atom provides precise, responsive control for any cloud streaming title. The “Designed for Xbox” version also features an Xbox Guide button.

Adaptable Smartphone Clamps: The sophisticated two-piece controller design features built-in smartphone clamps that adapt to virtually any size Android smartphone.

Play More, Charge Less: Each controller module is powered by its own battery. On a single charge, they provide a total runtime of 20 hours. Charging takes just 2.5 hours via the included USB-C cable.

Atom Companion App: The Companion App for the Atom Controller from the Play Store allows players to configure additional features, search for new games or update the firmware.

Prices and Availability

The Turtle Beach Atom Controller is available for pre-order now in red, black and yellow, and black and teal directly from the manufacturer and participating retailers. It will be released on November 14, 2022 at an MSRP of 99.99 euros.
