The BYD Yangwang U9 proves that BYD not only offers electric cars for the masses at a comparatively low price. Initial technical data on the sporty speedster is now making the hearts of fans of fast electric cars beat faster. The super sports car is said to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2 seconds.

Presentation of the BYD Yangwang U9 is imminent

When the first images of the BYD Yangwang U9 were published, the rumor mill in the automotive industry was already buzzing. The shapes and colors of the flat electric car are strongly reminiscent of a vehicle from McLaren. But in terms of sportiness, BYD is likely to top the British car manufacturer’s models once again. At least this is the conclusion drawn from the first technical data that has become known about the sports car. A report by industry experts from Carnewsinchina reveals that it should take just 2 seconds for the super sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

We should be able to find out for sure this month. After all, the world’s largest electric car manufacturer from China plans to hold the official presentation of the BYD Yangwang U9 at the end of February. In addition to the acceleration, there is already a little more information about the sporty electric car. It is based on the company’s own E4 platform. In terms of size, it is therefore most comparable to a Tesla Model S. But only when it comes to the footprint. With a height of around 1.3 m, it is ultra-flat and therefore much sportier.

Many data still unknown

It’s not just the acceleration data currently circulating in the rumor mill that sounds exciting. The so-called Disus Intelligent Body Control System also seems promising. This is a technology that affects the chassis. It is designed to ensure that the car is always optimally positioned on the asphalt. According to BYD, the technology in the BYD Yangwang U9 should also ensure that the car can continue driving on three tires in an emergency.

But that’s really all the information known so far. Data on the battery and its range will be eagerly awaited at the end of February. As BYD primarily made headlines as the world’s largest battery manufacturer before its success in the automotive industry, we can probably expect a real surprise here too. However, the whole thing will of course come at a price. It remains to be seen whether BYD will comment on this and a release date for the BYD Yangwang U9.
