With the EOS C70, Canon has released an especially small and light professional camera including RF bayonet. Amongst other things, this should enable a particularly high flexibility factor to be used. The powerful RF lens is also convincing. With the new EF-EOS R 0.71x bayonet adapter it is also possible to connect the camera to the Canon EF lens.
The Canon EOS C70 in detail
The Canon EOS C70 can be used for a wide range of applications. No matter if it is about filming news or creating documentations: the possibilities are wide. Alternatively, filming in portrait format is also possible. Of course, the different shooting formats are also particularly practical, for example 4K up to 120 fps in 4:2:2 10 bit in XF-AVC (All-I or Long GOP) and MP4 in HEVC (H.265) or H.264. On their basis, filming can be even more individual.
Parallel to the camera the manufacturer also presented the bayonet adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x. This can be used with numerous Canon lenses and thus offers a particularly high degree of flexibility.
The Canon EOS C70 is now regarded as the smallest and lightest model in the Canon Cinema EOS system. Nevertheless, nobody has to do without a wide range of functions. For example, 13 buttons can be equipped with individual functions. Furthermore the user benefits from:
- a high degree of operating convenience
- a low dead weight, which means that the camera can usually be held and moved safely with one hand without any problems
- a multifunctional handle
- two mini XLR connectors (audio)
- an independent ventilation system.
Due to the fact that modern Canon RF lenses are known for their convincing image quality anyway, they are more and more often used in connection with professional video production. And: the RF series continues to grow.
The EOS C70 is compatible with many other systems
Especially practical: the EOS C70 can be used in combination with the Canon Dual Pixel CMOS AF, among other things. It also offers its user the option of using the EOS iTR AF X (Intelligent Tracking and Recognition).
On the basis of artificial intelligence, eyes, faces, heads and bodies can be recognized without any problems. This makes it possible, among other things, to track moving motifs even more precisely.
