Canon PowerShot PX: Intelligent smart cameras launched

The intelligent mini PTZ camera Canon PowerShot PX is supposed to automatically capture beautiful moments. To do so, the compact camera relies on smart features and is equipped with an 11.7 megapixel sensor, while videos are recorded in Full HD resolution at 60 frames per second.

Whether for family photos or everyday shots, the intuitive, swivel and tilt PowerShot PX captures the best moments of everyday life thanks to smart features. Automatic shooting and a handy priority function ensure that the mini camera independently recognizes when to press the shutter button.

The PowerShot PX automatically follows people around, capturing natural moods and situations. Thanks to its light weight and compact dimensions, the camera can be placed anywhere to take snapshots of everyday moments, while voice control also makes manual photo and creative video capture intuitive and easy.

In this regard, the PX has a USB-C charging port as well as built-in Wi-Fi and connects using a mobile device. Smart face detection allows the PowerShot PX to automatically find the right subject for each shot. The focal length range is 19-57mm, and the rotating and tilting zoom lens can automatically track what’s happening over a very wide area (340˚ horizontally and 110˚ vertically).

PowerShot PX app connectivity

The iOS and Android app for smartphones makes it quick and easy to create a digital photo album. At the same time, all photos and videos are evaluated within the app in terms of their quality, while the best shots can then be transferred to a PC quickly and easily.

In addition, the app allows manual camera control to take pictures or videos without having to pick up the camera yourself. The automatic shooting settings can be customized to, for example, align the lens to take pictures in an individual style.

The app also lets you select specific faces to prioritize when taking pictures. Using the PC Webcam Utility app, the PowerShot PX can additionally be used as a webcam.
