Kingston’s gaming brand, HyperX, used the CES in Las Vegas to introduce new products for streamers and gamers. The HyperX Quadcast microphone was presented especially for Streamer and the HyperX Cloud Orbit with a lot of technology on board.
Microphone for Streamer
The Quadcast is a stand microphone and comes in a vibration dampening mount. The gain control is located on the underside, it has four different polar patterns and can be muted at the touch of a button. On the front there is a LED to indicate the current send status.
The electret condenser microphone has a frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz and a sampling rate of 48 kHz at a bit rate of 16 bit. The sensitivity of HyperX is -36 dB. The microphone is connected via a 3 m long cable. The microphone alone weighs 254 g, with stand and bracket the system reaches 364 g. To avoid cable clutter, a headset can also be connected directly to the Quadcast.
Headsets with lots of technology
With the two new Cloud Orbit and Cloud Orbit S HyperX launches its first headsets with Audeze and Waves technology. For the drivers, 100 mm planar magnets are used. In combination with the Nx-3D audio technology they are supposed to provide “cinematic” sound. The larger Orbit S model can also use Waves NXx head tracking technology to capture head movement to improve spatial hearing with the headset.
The software can be used to adjust the 3D audio settings and calibration, as well as the equalizers. The HyperX Cloud Orbit S can be used wirelessly. The built-in battery is designed for about ten hours. If you are into cables, you can also connect the two headsets via a 4-pin 3.5 mm jack plug or via Type C. If you do not have a USB type C connection, there is an adapter for type A. As an extra there is a microphone for noise cancelling underneath the two ear cups.
Prices for the two products are not yet known.
