Creative SXFI Air Gamer: The all-rounder is available now

The gaming experts from Creative have released a new gaming headset. With the SXFI Air Gamer, the company promises nothing less than the perfect balance between hobby and work. The pair of headphones is not only supposed to provide great gaming sessions with rich sound. On top of that, the SXFI Air is supposed to convince gamers in everyday work.

Balancing Home Office and Gaming

To make the purchase of two separate pairs of headphones unnecessary, Creative Technology is trying to convince with its SXFI Air Gamer both at work and while gaming. The fusion of features from the popular SXFI Air and SXFI Gamer headphones is supposed to make it possible. The result, according to Creative, is a real “eierlegende Wollmilchsau”. The pair of headphones already makes its added value as an all-rounder clear in the area of user-friendliness. With the help of Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5 mm jack, and an adapter for USB-A and USB-C, everyone should be able to find the right interface. Everything from A for work to Z for gaming should be possible thanks to high-quality audio playback.

Thus, thanks to the special SXFI battle mode audio profile, gamers should be able to benefit from very precise localization. From experience, this proves to be a decisive advantage, especially in shooters like CS:GO or Call of Duty. The heart of the headphones is the neodymium driver with a proud diameter of 50 mm. Besides rich basses, these are supposed to provide a crystal-clear, but also very lively sound. While the frequency range between 20 Hz and 20 kHz is not really impressive, the so-called Super-X-Fi technology sounds all the more exciting. Here, the sound card expert Creative probably flexes its muscles and tickles an even better performance out of the over-ears.

Practical support in the home office

Unfortunately, the vast majority of us can’t spend the whole day gaming, but have to earn our evening round of multiplayer first. This is where it comes in handy that the SXFI Air Gamer can also be used optimally for work, school or study. Creative has installed helpful assistants especially for this. The focus is on an effective improvement of communication. This should bring decisive advantages especially for video conferences or online lessons. Classic telephoning should also not be a problem. The corresponding control is done via swipe gestures on the upper side of the ear cups.

This allows you to change songs, adjust the volume and even answer calls without even taking the smartphone out of your pocket. At the heart of communication is, of course, the microphone. Creative does not seem to make any compromises here either. The CommanderMic is used, which has a pop filter, voice amplification technology and a noise reduction feature on board. Gamers and home office users benefit equally from this. Finally, the so-called GamerChat technology is supposed to ensure the best possible voice quality, which should not only enable good agreements in multiplayer, but also in video conferencing.

Eleven hours of battery life

Thanks to a range of up to ten meters, you should also be able to comfortably move away from the source device without having to put up with signal drops. This should prove to be a big advantage especially in longer conference calls. With a battery life of up to eleven hours, you should not only be able to endure every workday, but also several gaming sessions. However, apart from the battery life, the wearing comfort also plays a decisive role when it comes to a long usage time. Creative has obviously thought about this as well. The large, imitation leather ear pads are not only supposed to be soft, but also prevent annoying sweating. The cable, which is used when the battery is empty, is also a real eye-catcher. Without further ado, the gaming experts have reinforced this with high-quality and resistant Kevlar.

Price and availability

Creative seems to have a really exciting headset on offer with its SXFI Air Gamer. It is precisely the combination of hobby and home office that makes this pair of headphones so attractive in this age of Corona. Since home office will most likely continue to be a major priority in our job market in the future, many should be happy with the all-rounder – if it delivers what it promises. If you are interested, you can buy it for an MSRP of 139.99 Euros.
