Dell brings performance and graphics update for its XPS 15

With the release of the new Intel Tiger Lake H processors, Dell has now also upgraded its XPS 15. Better processor, more graphics power and the option for a 3.5K OLED display.

Intel Tiger Lake-H and Nvidia GeForce 3050 Ti

The new edition of the Dell XPS 15 (model: 9510) has received an upgrade with the introduction of the new Intel Tiger Lake-H processor. The eleventh generation of the 45 watt Tiger Lake-H chip was used. Thus, the XPS 15 has a lot more computing power than before. The i5-11400H, i7-11800H and i9-11900H models are available. In addition, 8 GB DDR4 up to 64 GB DDR4 RAM and up to 4 TB PCIe 4×4 are possible on the storage side. In order to also make a decent impression graphically, the processor can be combined with a 45W Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 or the 45W Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti.

Optional 3.5K OLED touch display

Visually, the Dell XPS 15 has barely changed from the previous model. The notebook remains a compact 15-incher with a screen-to-body ratio of 92.9 percent. However, the display is now optionally available with an OLED touch display that is certified with DisplayHDR400. In terms of resolution, it reaches 3,456 x 1,200 pixels and supports DisplayHDR500 TB and 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. Thus, it achieves much higher contrasts than the standard IPS panel.

In its base configuration, the XPS 15 has an IPS panel with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. In terms of ports, the notebook has two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, an SD card reader, a 3.5 mm combo port for microphones and headset on board. Battery, webcam and wireless remain as before on the 9500 model.

Availability and pricing

The new Dell XPS 15 notebook should be available in our country from June 01, 2021 and can then be configured in the Dell store according to your own wishes. The prices for Germany are not yet known, but the XPS 15 will be available in the US starting at 1,200 US dollars. You can choose between black and white.
