Dell pimping its Ultrabook for 2021

Dell makes the premium Ultrabook fit for the new year. Dell has already been offering the XPS for several years. It is slim, light and has a clean performance. The new Dell XPS 13 9310 comes with a fast Intel Tiger Lake APU, an Intel Xe graphics chip, Thunderbolt 4 and more.

Not only the XPS 13 2 in 1 has received an upgrade, but also the regular XPS 13.

Difference between XPS 13 2 in 1 and XPS 13

The XPS 13 2 in 1 14.8 mm thin and 1.27 kg light, thus lighter than the regular model. The top model also has more power. It is available as Core i3-1115G4, Core i5-1135G7 and Core i7-1165G7. The XPS 13 is also available with the Core i7-1185G7. This has four cores, eight threads, clock speeds of up to 4.8 GHz and the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7. With this, it is currently at the peak of Tiger Lake performance.

Performance / technology

Features include 8 GB to 32 GB LPDDR4x-4267 memory and a 256 GB to 1 TB PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD. The display has a 13.4 inch screen in 16:10 format. The user can choose between an FHD panel with 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and a 4K screen with 3,840 x 2,400 pixels. Each screen variant has a very narrow bezel and a maximum brightness of a remarkable 500 nits, which is sufficient for HDR 400 certification. Optional the XPS 13 is available with touchscreen and then also equipped with Gorilla Glass 6.

The battery is said to have a runtime of up to 19 hours and holds 52 Wh. A 45 Watt USB-C power supply unit is also available.

The XPS 9310 also has a fingerprint sensor on the power button on board and a Windows Hello compatible webcam.

Features include Windows 10 Home or Pro. Here Dell also offers a Developer Edition, which can be delivered with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. In addition, WiFi 6 AX1650, Bluetooth 5.1, 2 x 2 Watt stereo speakers and a Cortana-compatible microphone.

Connections

Some connections are also planned. There are two Thunderbolt 4 ports (USB-C), an AUX port, a USB-A adapter and a microSD card reader.

Availability

The Ultrabook will be available in the USA tomorrow. The XPS will be available in black and silver, with another version with a white front to follow. In the USA it will then be offered at a price of 999.99 US dollars. Unfortunately, Dell has not yet released when the Ultrabook will be available for purchase.
