Dreame A1: First robot lawn mower from the manufacturer presented

As part of its spring launch event, Dreame presented a number of upcoming gadgets to selected members of the press. Among them was the Dreame A1, the first robotic lawnmower that the vacuum cleaner and robot vacuum expert has in its portfolio.

Dreame A1: State-of-the-art navigation technology

With robotic vacuum cleaners such as the Dreame L20 Ultra (test), the company has already proven that it offers the best technology in terms of navigation. And this also seems to be the case with the Dreame A1. It uses OmniSense 3D ultra-sensing technology. This enables the robot to work completely autonomously.

Unlike conventional robotic lawn mowers, it does not need a boundary wire, but instead uses its sensors to map the area. You can then easily edit the resulting map of your garden in the corresponding app. This is very reminiscent of the manufacturer’s robot vacuum cleaners. The A1 is also said to work very efficiently and can therefore also mow large lawns.

To achieve this, it relies on a combination of modern sensors and a time-saving U-pattern in which the robot moves across the lawn. According to the manufacturer, a full 1,000 m² of lawn can be covered within 24 hours.

Thanks to the rain sensor, the smart garden helper should be able to react to the onset of precipitation, for example. It then automatically returns to its charging station. The same applies if the battery level is too low. Once the battery is fully charged again or the rain has passed, the Dreame A1 continues its gardening tour exactly where it was last.

Dreame A1: Convenient app operation

It’s not just in terms of navigation and efficiency that Dreame wants to score points with its first robotic lawn mower. Obstacle detection should also cut an outstanding figure. Even in difficult lighting conditions, the 3D obstacle detection system is said to detect obstacles with centimeter precision. And that up to a distance of a proud 40 meters. So you don’t have to worry if the kids have left the soccer or the bucket and shovel in the garden again.

The operation of the smart garden helper is once again reminiscent of the manufacturer’s robot hoovers. You use the uncomplicated Dreamehome app. Many different settings can be made here, such as cutting height. Targeted mowing of specific areas is also possible. Dreame promises a 3D view of your garden as a highlight. We are already familiar with this from the company’s robot vacuum cleaners.

Dreame A1: Uncomplicated maintenance

Dreame also promises a high level of user convenience when it comes to maintenance. This starts with the robust design of the robot lawn mower. It offers protection against dust and water in accordance with the IPX6 standard.

For you as the user, this has the decisive advantage that you can simply hose it down with the garden hose if it gets dirty. Experience has shown that another maintenance point for robotic mowers is changing the blades. This should also run smoothly here. This is made possible by a special quick-change mechanism.

Price and availability

From April 4, 2024, you can buy the Dreame A1 at a price of 1.999,00 Euro* on Amazon and in the official Dreame Store.
