Dynabook Satellite Pro C40-K and C50-K in detail
Dynabook is once again playing in the front in the business notebook sector, we could convince ourselves of that in the context of the compact 2-in-1 convertible Portégé X30W-K-11E in review. Now we have two new notebooks in the Sattelite Pro C-series that want to score with a convincing technology and high-quality build.
The first is the 14-inch Dynabook Satellite Pro C40-K notebook, which is accompanied by the larger 15.6-inch C50-K. Both devices are otherwise based on the same technology. Both devices are otherwise based on similar equipment and a modern design.
Dynabook relies on Intel Core processors of the 12th generation and up to 32 GB working memory including DDR4-3200 RAM. The PCIe-SSD is up to 1 terabyte in size. The devices are also equipped with 3-cell batteries with 45 Wh, which enable a battery life of almost eight hours.
The C40-K weighs only 1.36 kilograms and is only 18.75 millimeters high. The C50-K, on the other hand, weighs in at 1.52 kilograms and is still quite compact at 18.95 millimeters. The case, keyboard and clickpad feature an antibacterial coating that reduces the spread of potentially harmful bacteria by up to 99.9 percent.
Dynabook Satellite Pro C40-K and C50-K also rely on modern equipment in other respects. For example, the displays of both models can be opened by 180 degrees to facilitate collaboration with colleagues.
In terms of ports, there is a multifunctional USB 3.2 Type-C port that allows charging and transferring data and videos, three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, HDMI, 3.5 mm jack and RJ45. A microSD card reader is also available, as is fast WiFi 6 802.11 AX.
Crack point: Display?
Only with the displays does the manufacturer hardly go into detail. The announcement says: “The anti-reflective HD or FHD screen offers a seamless, full-screen viewing experience,” which suggests that you better not expect too high resolutions.
Nevertheless, both models are suitable for video conferencing thanks to the HD webcam, stereo speakers and the option to connect external microphones or headphones. Security features include the firmware-based Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) 2.0, while biometric login is possible with an optional integrated camera and fingerprint reader.
However, it is not known when and at what prices the two notebooks Dynabook Satellite Pro C40-K and C50-K will be released. The models are currently not mentioned on the manufacturer’s product website.
