A new balcony power plant with electricity storage has appeared on the market. The system, called Powerstream, is modular and consists of a microinverter, matching solar modules and a power storage unit. It is designed to measure the power consumption of connected loads and adjust the inverter’s output power to the current load.
The Powerstream system can be used with a variety of EcoFlow power stations as a power storage device. These Powerstations must have a connection for an additional external battery. There is also a kit version of the Powerstream without storage for customers who already own a suitable Powerstation.
The system’s solar modules come in a variety of options, from flexible 4×100-W modules to rigid 400-W single modules. The microinverter has two separate 400-W solar inputs and is waterproof to IP67 standards.
Smart sockets and apps
The system is complemented by smart sockets that can measure power consumption. These sockets are Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled and can handle up to 2,500 watts of continuous load. Associated apps for Android and iOS can be used to adjust the inverter’s output power and also create timed automations.
Price and Availability
The Powerstream system is available in three variants. Without storage, the balcony power plant costs under 1,000 euros. The 1-kWh storage kit costs 2,092 euros and the 2-kWh storage kit is 2,509 euros. The microinverter is also available separately and costs 276 euros. The products are available from the manufacturer’s online store and major online retailers.
