Eve Shutter Switch and Eve Flare: New Thread products available

Manufacturer Eve Systems announces the availability of two new products that support the Thread standard. The smart shutter control Eve Shutter Switch and the second generation of the portable LED light Eve Flare are available now.

Eve Shutter Switch and Eve Flare in detail

At IFA 2022, Eve Systems debuted the Eve Shutter Switch smart shutter control for motorized shutters and blinds. It replaces an existing flush-mounted shutter switch with a smart shading solution, allowing, for example, the creation of autonomous schedules to automatically open and close shutters.

Schedules to automate the shutter are stored directly on Eve Shutter Switch and run independently of a control center and internet connection. The Adaptive Shading feature, configurable in the Eve app, darkens rooms during the day, depending on the current position of the sun.

It can also be controlled in the Eve app or by “Hey Siri” voice command if desired. Eve Shutter Switch requires a neutral wire.

Eve Flare: Smart LED Light

The Eve Flare portable LED light charges wirelessly and achieves up to six hours of runtime. It is IP65 certified, making it water resistant. It also features a carrying handle, so it can be taken anywhere to add colorful mood lighting anywhere on demand.

Thanks to HomeKit technology, operation is particularly simple. A lighting mood is activated via app or Siri. And with a control center at home, Eve Flare can provide the right lighting all by itself via a one-time or recurring timer. You can choose from existing colors, or create your own. Brightness can be adjusted with a simple swipe on your iPhone or a voice command.

Eve Shutter Switch and Eve Flare support Thread in addition to Bluetooth, which works in conjunction with a HomePod (2nd Gen.), HomePod mini, or Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen. / 3rd Gen. 128 GB). The shutter switch serves as a hub for other Thread devices, improving stability and range in the smart home. The Matter standard is to receive both devices at a later date via firmware update as well.
