Fiido X: Crowdfunding campaign for folding e-bike has raised over 1 million euros

The crowdfunding campaign of the Chinese bike manufacturer Fiido is a complete success. More than 1.1 million euros have already been invested in the lightweight bike. A few days remain to secure the foldable e-bike.

The Chinese manufacturer is looking back on the COVID 19 pandemic in a reasonably positive light, as the small and lightweight Fiido D11 e-bike already morphed into an absolute success on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo last year, flushing around 900,000 euros into the manufacturer’s coffers.

The current campaign for the foldable Fiido X e-bike has already surpassed this mark and is now, eight days before the end, already at 1.15 million euros. Around 1,300 supporters contributed this incredible amount, which has already exceeded the manufacturer’s target of 10,000 euros by 10709 percent.

In the new bike, Fiido relies on a foldable design, while the frame of the X weighs in at just under 3 kg. Equipped with an innovative hidden folding mechanism, the e-bike is said to fold completely in just 10 seconds and then come to a size of just 0.15 cubic meters. In addition, the Fiido X features a torque sensor and offers a longer range (130 km) than the D11.

Also exciting is the removable, 417.6Wh battery located in the saddle mount. European buyers will also be pleased to know that there is no throttle: instead, you have to pedal, which is an advantage for the e-bike’s compliance with pedelec guidelines in Germany and other EU countries. A throttle kit will be offered for the U.S. after the crowdfunding campaign is complete.

So a little more than a week remains for interested parties to secure the Fiido X. At least 925.00 euros are due for the 16.7 kg Lite version with a range of 60 km, 1,093.00 euros for the normal Fiido X (17 kg).
