Google is preparing for a brilliant return in the tablet segment and will launch an exciting Android device with the Google Pixel Tablet starting next year. The company revealed the first details at the Google I/O developer conference 2022.
Google Pixel Tablet to appear in 2023
With the newly unveiled Google Pixel Tablet, the company blasts off next year to attack the tablet throne in the Android sector. Because the new device no longer relies on Chrome OS, but comes with Android 13 – the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.
As a “perfect companion for Pixel smartphones” the tablet comes much later than the new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro devices, for example. Google did not reveal many details about the tablet, but it does show a few details in a short video. The tablet is supposed to work seamlessly with all other Pixel devices.
There will be a camera on the back, while the front-facing camera is located on the upper side of the frame. Pins on the back also indicate that the Google Pixel Tablet can connect to keyboards or other peripherals.
The front of the tablet features relatively ready display edges that are strongly reminiscent of the Google Nest Hub design in terms of color scheme and curves. Apart from that, we only know that the new tablet will be equipped with Google’s own Tensor chip, which has also been used in smartphones since the Pixel 6 series.
When exactly and at what price the Google Pixel Tablet will be released in 2023 is just as unclear as the other technical specifications. However, we are curious to see whether Google can knock Samsung off the Android tablet throne and take on the best Apple iPad tablets.
