Google Will Invest 13 Billion US Dollars in the USA

Google wants to grow further in its home country. The Group is investing a total of $13 billion in new data centers, offices and data center extensions in the United States. Investments are made in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia.

Last year Google already grew strongly in the USA. In 2018, the Group invested around 9 billion dollars in its home country and hired more than 10,000 new employees. This growth course is now to be pursued further. The cloud business grew particularly strongly.

As the new division head Thomas Kurian, who switched from Oracle to Google, stated, Google intends to continue to place special emphasis on the expansion of cloud sales in the future. Growth should be accelerated even faster than before. Google now employs almost 100,000 people. As Google continues to grow, it is also consolidating its role as a major employer in the United States.
