HANNspree introduces portable USB monitors

The manufacturer of monitors and touchscreen monitors specializing in touch technology has now introduced two new portable 15.6-inch monitors with a USB-C connection.

Ideal for on the road

The manufacturer’s two new models weigh just 0.7 kg, which makes them ideal for travel. Whether for working on the notebook or for a dual display presentation, a single cable connects to the monitor and off you go. The HL161CGB is a portable standard monitor with a viewing angle stable ADS panel, whereas the new HT161CGB additionally wants to convince with comfortable touch functionality. With their weight, both models are among the lightest on the market of portable 15.6-inch monitors. The frame of the HANNspree HL161CGB and HT161CGB is just 6 mm thick, just like a standard pencil. Only the bottom side is 11 mm wide. With a size of 355.4 x 11 x 222.88 mm (W x D x H) they fit into almost any laptop or travel bag.

The USB port not only provides the image output, it also supplies the monitor with power. That’s all you need to carry a second display with you when you’re on the road and increase productivity. Alternatively, both HANNspree models also offer a mini HDMI input. The appropriate USB and HDMI cables are included with the monitors. The USB connections also allow you to connect a compatible smartphone. The HANNspree HL161CGB then serves as a larger screen, while the touch-enabled HT161CGB monitor offers direct control of the connected smartphone and the apps used on it.

Technical details

Both monitor versions have a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels in Full HD. The HANNspree monitors use a stable ADS panel with a viewing angle of 170 degrees. This ensures perfect readability even when viewing the screen from the side. In addition to all this, there is a high contrast ratio of static 800:1 and dynamic 10,000,000:1. The intensive color display is protected by a tempered glass cover with hardness grade 7. The glare-type display protects the monitors from dust, dirt, condensation and spilled liquids, making them suitable for mobile working environments. Minus the loss of brightness due to the tempered glass cover, the monitors achieve a brightness of 220 cd/m2 and 250 cd/m2 (panel). Both monitors are equipped with a foldable protective cover. This also serves as a monitor stand. The user does not need to carry external speakers with him, as both models already have stereo speakers from the factory. Last but not least, the HANNspree USB monitors have a 3.5 mm jack socket for connecting headphones on board.

The HT161CGB Touch

The HANNspree HT161CGB with additional touch function differs from the standard model by its multi-touch display. The display enables precise and smooth control through touch gestures. Simultaneous operation by several users is also no problem, as the HT161CGB supports up to 10 touch points.

Availability and price

The two monitors are available in stores immediately. The HANNspree HL161CGB is available at a price of 219 Euro and a two-year warranty. The touch capable HT161CGB can be purchased for 279 Euro, with a warranty of three years.
