Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro: Flagship should offer 14 days battery life

With the Watch GT 2 Pro, Huawei has introduced a genuine premium smartwatch, which not only offers a proud two weeks battery life, but also scores with an offline GPS recording.

The new flagship of Huawei

With the Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro, Huawei doesn’t seem to want to compromise. This is where the Chinese company launches its top smartwatch. As was already the case with its predecessor, Huawei is again relying on an in-house operating system. The battery life of the upcoming watch is probably particularly exciting. The Smartwatch should be able to last up to two weeks. But beyond that, the Watch GT 2 Pro offers optimal conditions for athletes. In total, over 100 sports can be tracked. These include not only classic activities such as jogging or cycling. You can also track seasonal sports like skiing or snowboarding.

The Watch GT 2 Pro is said to be perfect for tracking winter sports.

Support during training

Even special sports like golf can be recorded with the upcoming Smartwatch. Depending on the sport you want to track, special attributes are measured. When snowboarding or skiing, the Watch GT 2 Pro measures not only the pulse, but also the average speed, distance, maximum gradient and the oxygen content in the blood. The watch also provides detailed information when playing golf. Thus the Watch GT 2 Pro performs an analysis of the tee shot. If the watch detects any indication of improvement in this respect, it informs the wearer. An extremely practical feature for athletes is probably the built-in GPS receiver. After all, it can record distances even when the watch itself is offline. Hikers and runners in particular will be pleased about this. After all, the GPS also helps if you get lost.

Smartwatch gives weather warnings

It’s really amazing how much technology Huawei can accommodate in the small Smartwatch. So the Watch GT 2 Pro also offers a barometer. So the watch functions as a small weather station. Based on the measured data, the watch can determine, for example, whether there is a high probability of thunderstorms. Furthermore, the watch can not only monitor the wearer’s sleep cycle, but also offers special breathing exercises. Women can also use the watch to monitor their own menstrual cycle.

Long battery life

Especially the large OLED display of the Smartwatch is a real eye-catcher. It is almost 1.4 inches in size and has a pin-sharp resolution of 454 x 454 pixels. Since Huawei relies on sapphire crystal, the Watch GT 2 Pro should also be protected from stubborn scratches. The battery life of the upcoming Smartwatch sounds particularly exciting. The Watch GT 2 Pro should last up to two weeks. The reason for this is the combination of a large battery and a power-saving processor. According to the manufacturer, Huawei’s own Kirin A1 is supposed to be extremely energy efficient. Unfortunately, we don’t know under which circumstances the 14 day battery life is realistic. Usually, however, switched on GPS is a real “battery eater”. In this case you will most likely have to live with a shorter battery life.

More details

In the Watch GT 2 Pro, Huawei uses a total of 4 GB of storage space. This can be used for storing music for example. The Watch GT 2 Pro is charged via wireless charging. If it has to go fast, five minutes of charging time is probably enough to get ten hours of battery life. Huawei uses a titanium alloy for the materials. The manufacturer uses ceramic on the underside. The Watch GT 2 Pro’s large battery also has its disadvantages. For example, the watch comes with a large diameter of 46.7 mm and a weight of 52 g. The Smartwatch is also water resistant to a certain extent. The case can withstand up to 5 ATM in water, so showering is no problem. When swimming, however, you should only visit shallow waters and never dive.

Price and availability

From October 2, the Watch GT 2 Pro will be available at a price of just under 300 euros. You can choose between two different bracelets. While the rubber strap is intended more for athletes, the leather version gives the Watch GT 2 Pro a noble touch. If you pre-order the upcoming flagship Smartwatch by October 2, you will receive a practical body fat scale from Huawei free of charge.
