Hyundai: Prices for e-car lineup temporarily reduced

The battle for supremacy on the e-car market is raging fiercely. Manufacturers are currently trying to outbid each other with new price cuts. Hyundai has now announced that it will be making significant price cuts – but only for a short time. The South Korean car manufacturer wants to make a total of three of its popular e-cars 7,000 euros cheaper in the entire first quarter of 2024.

Hyundai reacts to the abolition of the environmental bonus

When the traffic light government decided to abolish the so-called mobility bonus from one day to the next at the end of last year, the outcry was not only great among buyers. Car manufacturers were certainly also given a brief shock. After all, the rigorous abolition also threatened the hitherto steadily growing rush to fully electric cars. And so it came to pass. Some manufacturers reacted quickly and decided to step into the breach themselves and take over the originally promised premium.

To ensure that electric cars do not become less attractive to buyers, some manufacturers are currently even reducing the prices within the vehicle line-up. Hyundai is also in the game. The South Koreans are now offering a worthwhile discount of a proud 7,000 euros on the Kona, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models. This represents a significantly higher saving compared to the classic mobility bonus, which “only” granted the buyer a discount of 4,500.

What’s more, the procedure is much less complicated for customers. After all, there is no need to submit a form to the Federal Office for Economic Control and Export (BAFA) and no subsequent waiting period. The savings are immediate. Not only buyers should benefit from this. Anyone opting for a lease will also receive a 7,000 euro discount. However, the campaign will unfortunately only last until March 31, 2024.

Successful electric cars

Hyundai is not selling off any old models as part of the savings campaign. Instead, you can save on the currently very popular Ioniq models and the Kona. With the Ioniq 5 and 6 in particular, the South Koreans have a lot to offer in a few important disciplines. This applies, among other things, to the charging technology, which relies on 800 volts. The high voltage enables an impressive fast-charging performance, with which the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes in the best case scenario. Bidirectional charging is also really practical. This means that you can not only charge the battery of other electric cars using the electric cars. What’s more, the charging connection can be used as a socket with a suitable adapter, which is really ingenious.
