Intel introduces new Core Ultra 200V processors

Intel has introduced the Core Ultra 200V series, which operates under the name “Lunar Lake”. These processors aim to redefine the efficiency and performance of mobile devices. With an innovative architecture and advanced technology, Intel is targeting both demanding users and professionals who expect maximum performance.

The most important features of the Core Ultra 200V series:

  • Combination of performance and efficiency cores for optimal performance.
  • Latest Xe2 graphics unit and powerful NPU for AI applications.
  • Integrated LPDDR5X memory directly on the package for increased speed.
  • Improved energy efficiency through modern manufacturing technologies.

Powerful architecture for maximum performance

The Core Ultra 200V processors are based on an innovative multi-chip architecture consisting of four performance cores (P-cores) and four efficiency cores (E-cores). The new “Lion Cove” performance cores offer a 14% increase in performance per clock compared to their predecessors, while the “Skymont” efficiency cores offer a 68% improvement. This combination enables an excellent balance between speed and energy consumption, ideal for laptops and other mobile devices.

One of the outstanding innovations is the integrated Xe2 graphics unit, which will also be used in Intel’s upcoming Battlemage GPUs. The graphics unit offers impressive performance that is specifically geared towards graphics-intensive applications and gaming. This is complemented by the NPU, which is particularly suitable for AI tasks such as image and speech recognition with up to 48 TOPS (Tera-Operations per Second).

Models and technical specifications

The series comprises a total of nine models, which differ in terms of performance and features in order to meet different requirements. The flagship, the Core Ultra 9 288V, offers a base clock speed of 5.1 GHz and is equipped with 32 GB LPDDR5X memory. The processors are manufactured in collaboration with TSMC, with advanced packaging ensuring a compact design and excellent thermal efficiency.
