Schenker’s new notebook uses the “NUC M15 Laptop Kit” from Intel, which is available for OEMs, and is positioned in the premium segment.

With the NUC M15 Laptop Kit, the Vision 15 from Schenker is the first reference notebook. Behind the identification of Intel hides a premium concept, which makes certain demands. The requirements for laptops are clearly defined. Actually the Vision 15 is a kind of interpretation of the new notebook platform with the current processor generation Tiger Lake stowed away in 15 inch. Thanks to the cooperation with Intel, the Vision 15 meets all the requirements of the Intel Evo platform.

The Vision 15 has a height of just 15 mm, a 15-inch touch display, 16 GB RAM and a Core i7-1165G7 on board. That speaks for itself. The notebook measures 355 × 230 × 15 mm (W × D × H) and comes in an aluminum case with a silver anodized surface. The material thus contributes to a weight of just 1.68 kg and provides advantages in terms of thermal conductivity. The battery of the Vision 15 is permanently installed and has a capacity of 73 watt hours. With the battery, the notebook should achieve a runtime of over 10 hours when playing videos and 14 hours when surfing. In idle mode it consumes just 3 watts. The display can be rotated by 180 degrees and resolves in Full-HD. The maximum brightness is 450 cd/m². According to Schenker, at least 90 percent of the sRGB color space can be displayed.
First with i7
The Vision 15 will initially only be available with a Core i7-1165G7, a version with i5-1135G7 will follow in the first half of 2021. The i7 is up to 4.7 GHz fast and has four cores. With SMT the TDP is 28 watts. In addition, 16 GB LPDDR4X memory with 4.266 MHz is installed. With the i7, the Vision 15 supports M.2 SSD connection via PCI Express 4.0. The basic equipment of the Vision 15 has a 250 GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus in M.2 format on board. If the user wants more, he can replace it with another or larger model via the store.
What else does the Vision 15 have to offer?
The Windows Hello-compatible HD infrared webcam, four integrated microphones and stereo speakers ensure perfect communication. For this purpose, the Vision 15 has a backlit keyboard, which can be set in two modes. The surface of the Microsoft Precision touchpad is made of glass. The notebook has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB Type A (USB 3.2 Gen2) and a 2-in-1 audio port in 3.5 mm jack format. With the 65-watt power supply via USB, the notebook can be charged from 20 to 90 percent within one and a half hours. Additional screens can be connected via the HDMI 2.0b port. A Wi-Fi 6 module and Bluetooth 5.1 provide network communication.
Availability and price
The Schenker Vision 15 can be pre-ordered from 04 December at a price of 1,499 euros. It will not be delivered until the end of January 2021, and the guarantee is for the usual three years. In the new year, not only the version with the i5 will follow, but also a different color, which Schenker calls “Midnight Black”.
