Keeway Blueshark 80: Smart e-scooter with camera reaches 80 km/h

Manufacturer Keeway has introduced a new electric scooter. The Keeway Blueshark 80 relies on smart features such as multiple cameras and a fingerprint sensor, and also reaches speeds of up to 80 km/h.

The Keeway Blueshark 80 in detail

Manufacturer Keeway from the UK has unveiled the Keeway Blueshark 80, an exciting new electric scooter that comes in a choice of black or white. The Keeway Blueshark 80 starts in the 125cc class and has Euro 5 certification. A maximum torque of 201 Nm is available, which brings the e-scooter up to 80 km/h.

Two battery packs find space under the seat, allowing a range of up to 160 kilometers. The batteries can be charged directly in the scooter or removed and supplied with energy at home. Offered are 5 riding modes, including an Eco mode and a Boost, as well as Racing mode, which allow different maximum performance.

Hydraulic disc brakes add safety, while a CBS (combined braking system) ensures that front and rear brakes are applied evenly, further enhancing safety. The scooter relies on an automatic transmission and is operated on the right handle via several switches that allow you to switch between different settings.

But what’s most exciting is the technology, because the Blueshark 80 is full of it. There is room for a whole 74 sensors in the electric scooter, which measure temperature and ambient light, for example, as well as the pressure on the seat cushion. Two cameras act as dash cams and keep an eye on traffic.

Even a fingerprint sensor is in the mix, allowing the e-scooter to start only for those whose biometric data the Blueshark 80 knows.

There is a 10-inch display on the handlebars, which is equipped with Android and includes a navigation system in addition to ride data. The Blueshark app also provides additional options and parameters. In addition, OTA updates are thus possible, which could make the Keeway Blueshark 80 even smarter in the future.

Price and Availability

The Keeway Blueshark 80 electric scooter is only available in the UK so far. It is unclear if and when he also comes to Germany. There, the recommended retail price is 4,299 pounds, but at launch only 3,699 pounds will be called. Further details can be found on the official website of the manufacturer.
