Klipsch introduces four new Reference Premiere Series subwoofers

US manufacturer Klipsch stands for excellent audio quality. After introducing new active speakers in February 2023, the living room at home can now look forward to booming bass. A total of four new subwoofers from the Reference Premiere series are to ensure this.

The new subwoofers of the Klipsch Reference Premiere series

Complementing stereo and surround sound systems, Klipsch introduces the new Reference Premiere-Line subwoofers. They are available with high-performance drivers in sizes 10, 12, 14 and 16 inches – so the diameter turns out large with 25, 30, 36 and 41 centimeters.

All models are equipped with a front-firing Cerametallic woofer. The copper-colored, twisted Membram achieves an optimal combination of maximum rigidity and good internal damping.

In combination with the ultra-long excursion drive, this should realize a clear, detailed bass range that comes along with only minimal distortion and a convincing sound.

Linear excursion is already 36mm on the 12-incher and 43 and 44mm on the top models. For maximum sound pressure from a compact enclosure, all four models feature bass reflex technology. A geometry specially developed by Klipsch with the new Aerofoil slot port design is intended to minimize turbulence and port noise.

Even the smallest model in the form of the Klipsch RP-1000 SW extends down to 19 Hz in the bass range.

Can be used wirelessly or wired

The Klipsch Reference Premiere subwoofers I also give variant and can also be integrated wirelessly via the WA-2 port with a corresponding expansion module and transmit the signal. If desired, this can also be done in parallel with cable operation, which means that, for example, stereo and surround systems can be connected simultaneously and separately from each other.

The built-in, highly efficient amplifier features an analog crossover and preamplifier for pulse-accurate playback without latency. A Class D amplifier ensures maximum efficiency, providing tremendous dynamics, impulse accuracy and low-frequency response.

The performance is also impressive: The 10-inch is driven with 300 watts continuous power (RMS), the 12-inch with 400 watts, the 14-inch with 500 watts, and in the top model with 16-inch chassis even comes to a whopping 800 watts – briefly, the power is even twice as high in all variants.

All models come with a scratch-resistant vinyl finish that mimics real wood with a fine wood grain. They rely on rounded corners, rubber feet with decoupling function and a grid made of woven fabric.

Prices and availability

The Klipsch RP-1000SW, RP-1200SW, RP-1400SW and RP-1600SW subwoofers will be available from authorized dealers in April 2023. It starts at an MSRP of 999.00 euros for the RP-1000 SW.
