The upcoming Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro smartphones are already causing a stir ahead of their official release. Leaks reveal numerous upgrades that are likely to appeal to both technology enthusiasts and gamers.

  • Larger batteries for longer runtimes
  • Faster charging with up to 90 watts
  • Improved camera with new image sensors
  • New IP69 rating for better protection

Powerful batteries and fast charging

A leaker has published the data sheets of the upcoming smartphones from Xiaomi on Weibo, promising numerous improvements for the new generation. One of the highlights of the new Xiaomi 15 series are the larger batteries.

The Xiaomi 15 is said to be equipped with a 4,900 mAh battery, while the Xiaomi 15 Pro may receive an even larger battery with 5,400 mAh. This promises a significantly longer battery life, which is particularly advantageous for intensive usage scenarios such as gaming or extensive working days.

In addition, both models support fast charging with up to 100 watts in the 15 and 120 watts in the 15 Pro, which enables rapid recharging. The smartphones charge wirelessly at 50 watts and 80 watts respectively.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on board

Both smartphones will be equipped with the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 from Qualcomm and up to 16 GB LPDDR5X 4800 RAM. The system memory is up to 1 TB.

The Xiaomi 15 will come with a screen diagonal of 6.36 inches, while the 15 Pro has a 6.73-inch screen. Both displays use LTPO technology to adjust the frame rate dynamically between 1 Hz and 120 Hz.

Improved camera technology

There is also exciting news in the area of camera technology. Although the Xiaomi 15 Pro does away with the variable aperture of the main camera, it uses improved image sensors to deliver higher image quality.

In addition to a 32 MP selfie camera, there is talk of a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera based on Samsung’s JN1 chip. The main camera of the Xiaomi 15 is said to be the 50 MP OmniVision OV50H in 1/1.31 inch format, while the Xiaomi 15 Pro is said to rely on the newer OV50N in 1/1.30 inch format. There is also a 50 MP telephoto camera with triple optical zoom.

Xiaomi is also integrating its own chips, such as the Surge series, which optimize battery management and thus further increase efficiency.

Robust design and enhanced protection

Another notable innovation is the new IP69 rating, which offers enhanced protection against water and dust. This makes the devices more resistant and suitable for everyday use, especially for users who use their smartphones in demanding environments.

Conclusion

The leaked information on the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro models indicates significant improvements in several areas. Larger batteries, faster charging, improved cameras and a more robust design could make these smartphones attractive options on the market. The official launch is eagerly awaited to see how these features will be implemented in practice and at what price the new models will be available.
