Lenovo once again proves that it is one of the biggest innovators in the field of modern notebooks. And that is in the form of the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i, which has now been presented at CES 2023. The special feature: The notebook does not offer a real keyboard, but is equipped with two OLED displays of the same size.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i in detail
The Lenovo Yoga Book 9i marks a real revolution. Not necessarily in terms of specifications, which are also impressive with a 13th generation Intel Raptor Lake U CPU, integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics unit or 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM.
However, the entire construction of the notebook is, because the Book 9i does not have a classic keyboard on the bottom. Instead, Lenovo relies on two 13.3-inch OLED displays that are connected via a 360-degree hinge.
Both displays are in 16:10 format, come with high resolutions of 2,880 × 1,800 pixels and offer a brightness of 400 cd/m² each. They are also touch-enabled, which makes the notebook, which weighs only 1.38 kg, look as if two tablets had simply been connected.
Many application areas
Of course, the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i can be used for many applications. For example, both displays can be used side by side in portrait mode or on top of each other in landscape mode, which opens up new possibilities for productive work.
It’s almost as if Lenovo took a multi-monitor setup and simply stuffed it into a compact and lightweight notebook. Touching the display magically brings up an on-screen keyboard complete with trackpad (across the entire width) that allows the Book 9i to be used like a normal laptop.
Conveniently, the device also comes with a whole range of accessories. Among them is a Bluetooth keyboard that can simply be magnetically docked or placed on the display. A stylus pen and a folio sleeve for placing both displays over or next to each other are also included.
Modern equipment
Apart from that, the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i’s equipment is absolutely impressive. We have already mentioned the CPU and RAM. In addition, there is a 512 GB or 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, as well as a total of three Thunderbolt 4 ports.
The battery has a capacity of 56 watt hours, so the notebook is not likely to be an endurance runner. Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and a 1080p webcam including IR webcam for Windows Hello login are also included.
How the whole thing looks in action and what possibilities the two OLED screens of Lenovo’s Yoga Book 9i open up can be seen in the video by Dave2D.
