LG presents prices for new TV generations

Thinking about buying an OLED TV? Then there’s virtually no getting around LG. After all, the Korean tech company is the undisputed king of the industry when it comes to ultra-thin, high-contrast and colorful panels. The company has now announced the prices for the latest generation of its OLED lineup.

LG OLED B4 and C4 series form the entry level

Many OLED fans believe that LG’s C-series offers the best value for money on the market. A look at the prices of the new generation, which will be available from April 2024, does not really differ from the previous models. For example, the C47 series offers a choice of six different screen sizes. Prices here start at just under 1,700 euros for 42 inches. At the end of the range is the OLED83C49LA.AEU with 83 inches and an RRP of approx. 7,300 euros.

The B-series is once again the entry-level model this year

The B-series is once again significantly cheaper. Here you can get a 55-inch set for just under 1,900 euros. The 77-inch model is available for around 4,300 euros. The new B-series sets will be launched in May 2024. What is striking is that the RRP for the 2023 TVs was also set at this level. While the RRP is virtually identical, a few technical changes have been made. LG promises a 30 percent higher peak luminance. A razor-sharp 4K resolution and 144 Hz are also on board.

Flagships with significantly higher luminance

Even in previous generations, the flagships of the M and G series not only scored with a higher-quality design. They also went one better technically than the C-series models. This is also the case with the M4 and G4, as LG now promises. This is made possible by the OLED Evo panels, which, for example, conjure up a significantly higher screen luminance on the screen. The hardware core is also ahead of the standard models. An Alpha 11 AI CPU works under the hood. The processor should, for example, ensure better upscaling of content to 4K. Thanks to AI, the CPU should also be able to better recognize and emphasize certain colour nuances in films.

The prices are of course correspondingly higher. In the G4 series, you can buy a 55-inch OLED at an RRP of 2,800 euros. The largest model is the 97-inch model with an RRP of 30,000 euros. These will also go on sale in April. And it gets even more expensive. The M series is at the top of the range. The models in the M4 series start at an RRP of just under 5,000 euros. For this you get a screen diagonal of 65 inches. If that’s not enough, you can opt for the OLED97M49LA. This measures an impressive 97 inches and comes with an RRP of 35,000 euros. In contrast to the C-series, however, the devices from the M-series will not be launched until the second half of 2024.

LG with OLED focus

Of course, the Korean tech company also has other TVs without OLED panels in its lineup. However, it is already clear that the focus is clearly on OLED technology. After all, the company is the undisputed market leader here. However, QNED models are also becoming increasingly popular. The market launch of the latest generation is still uncertain, but prices are already available.

The 65-inch models will cost from 2,300 euros. If you prefer a large 86-inch model, you will have to expect to pay 8,000 euros. The good old LCD models are much more budget-friendly. Here you can buy a 43-inch model from an RRP of just 550 euros. Large-format 98-inch models are available for 3,500 euros. The new LCD TVs will also be rolled out in April and May.
