Logitech Mevo: Streaming camera with interchangeable lenses is coming

Logitech is apparently about to unveil an innovative new streaming camera. The MX Brio, a high-quality 4K UHD webcam, has just been unveiled. However, the Logitech Mevo is mobile, uses a Micro Four Thirds sensor and comes with interchangeable lenses, which is like a revolution. It will be presented on March 19.

The Mevo model series from Logitech is not new; after all, the handy Mevo Start streaming camera is already available with a 3.6 mm lens and 1080p image quality. However, a new model will be presented on March 19, and the corresponding teaser website is already online.

And it clearly shows that the camera, which is aimed at live streamers and content creators, will rely on interchangeable lenses. The camera had already passed FCC certification in January 2024, revealing that the new Mevo will use a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) sensor.

The MFT system is served by Panasonic and Olympus (or OM system), among others, which offer high-quality mirrorless system cameras (DSLM). Due to the smaller sensor, these, like the lenses, are significantly more compact than larger camera sensors such as APS-C or full-frame.

The Logitech Mevo could therefore draw on a huge portfolio of lenses, although it is unclear whether Logitech itself will also offer lenses.

Logitech Mevo: images and specifications

While the official launch is still around a week away, additional leaked information is reaching the public. On the social network Weibo, for example, pictures of the camera can be seen, which is apparently to be called Logitech Mevo Core and will be based on a square box.

The images show that the camera is equipped with two USB-C ports, a 3.5 mm jack connection and an HDMI port, but can also save images and videos directly to a microSD card.

The streaming camera should also have a 6,400 mAh battery and be able to record videos in 4K resolution at up to 30 frames per second. The Multicam app, which is already used in the current Mevo camera, will be supported. This allows wireless streaming with multiple cameras.

With the exception of the teaser image, Logitech itself has not yet provided any information. This will follow on March 19 as part of the launch event.
