Logitech MX Brio: New webcam with 4K UHD resolution unveiled

With the Logitech MX Brio, the peripheral manufacturer has introduced its latest high-end webcam, which complements the high-quality MX Master series of mice and keyboards such as the MX Mechanical (our test) or the MX Master 3S (our test). The new webcam features 4K UHD resolution, is customizable and has a sustainable design.

The Logitech MX Brio in detail

The new Logitech MX Brio is once again positioned above Logitech’s previous webcam flagship, the Brio 4K. Although both cameras rely on a 4K resolution with 30 frames per second (or 1080p with 60 fps), the new model features a new sensor with 70 percent larger pixels, which should significantly improve the image quality.

At the same time, the MX Brio uses innovative AI functions. The artificial intelligence is intended to further improve image quality, for example through automatic light correction or face-based image optimization. Logitech promises twice as good facial recognition and twice as much image detail compared to the Brio 4K, as proven by laboratory tests conducted by DXOMark. Automatic exposure, automatic white balance and noise reduction round off the image quality.

The Logitech MX Brio can be adjusted using the Options, Logi Tune or G HUB software, which can be used to change the exposure, color tone, dynamic range and field of view, among other things.

A show mode is also offered, in which sketches, recordings and objects on the desk can be shared in the video by simply tilting the webcam. Logitech has also equipped the camera with a practical privacy shutter and two beamforming microphones for clear communication.

The manufacturer has also thought about a sustainable design. The new webcam is delivered in a paper box, while the plastic parts of the graphite model are made from 82 percent recycled plastic and those of the “Pale Grey” color scheme from 75 percent recycled plastic.

MX Brio 705 for Business

In addition to the Logitech MX Brio, which is intended for private users, the manufacturer also offers the MX Brio 705 for Business, which is designed for professional use. This does not differ from the other variant, at least visually.

However, the business model offers the so-called RightSight function, which is able to recognize the person speaking and automatically bring them into focus. This can be activated via Logi Tune.

The camera is also plug-and-play and compatible with most video conferencing platforms, certified for Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom and can be used with Chromebook.

Prices and availability

The Logitech MX Brio comes in graphite and pale grey and will be available from Logitech and participating retailers from March 2024. Shipping giant Amazon is also already listing the Ultra HD webcam with immediate availability at a recommended retail price of €229.00.

The MX Brio 705 for Business has an RRP of 249.00 euros and only comes in the color graphite. It can also be ordered directly from the manufacturer or from authorized dealers.
