Logitech MX Master 3S introduced: Cult creator mouse gets successor

The ergonomic Logitech MX Master 3 (our review) mouse still enjoys incredible popularity among digital creators. Now the manufacturer is launching an improved successor, which goes by the name Logitech MX Master 3S. Key improvements include 90 percent quieter primary keys, doubled resolution up to 8,000 DPI, and a faster MagSpeed scroll wheel.

The Logitech MX Master 3S in detail

The original MX Master 3 mouse already enjoys cult status and is enormously popular with photo and video professionals on all platforms. With the now released successor Logitech MX Master 3S, the manufacturer has once again improved the nager in almost all respects.

First and foremost, the two tactile primary keys have been significantly improved and are now supposed to trigger 90 percent quieter in direct comparison. In addition, a new 8K DPI sensor now does its job inside, which offers twice the resolution of the predecessor.

The resolution can also be adjusted precisely with the help of the Logitech Options+ software. In addition, the manufacturer promises that the MX Master 3S even works reliably on glass that is at least four mm thick.

From an ergonomic point of view, almost everything remains the same. The mouse measures 124.9 mm x 84.3 mm x 51 mm (height x width x depth) and still weighs 141 grams. Logitech does not provide details about the battery capacity and runtime, but it can be assumed that the same rechargeable 500 mAh battery is used with the same dimensions. The predecessor’s battery lasted up to 70 days. The Logitech MX Master 3S is also charged via USB Type-C.

Various connectivity wonder

The Logitech MX Master 3S operates wirelessly via Bluetooth Low Energy or optionally in the 2.4 GHz band using the included Logi Bolt USB-A receiver. It works wirelessly with all conceivable operating systems, including Windows 10 and 11, macOS (from version 10.15), Chrome OS and Linux, as well as via Bluetooth with iPad OS (from version 14) and Android (from version 8.0).

Particularly practical: The Easy Switch button on the bottom of the mouse allows switching between three connected platforms at the push of a button. We already know this in the same form from the Logitech Lift Mouse (our review).

The electromagnetic MagSpeed scroll wheel has been adopted from its predecessor in the Logitech MX Master 3S and therefore once again offers ultra-fast and precise scrolling. Of course, the side scroll wheel also returns, just like the total of seven freely configurable buttons.

In terms of ergonomics, however, the new edition is unfortunately once again only suitable for right-handed users. Logitech does not offer a left-handed version, as in the case of the Lift. The mouse is available in two colors (graphite and dark gray). In terms of sustainability, the plastic parts of the MX Master 3S consist of 27 percent (graphite) and 22 percent (dark gray) recycled PCR plastic.

Prices and Availability

The Logitech MX Master 3S is now available in stores for €129.99. For more information, visit the mouse’s product website.
