Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS: Wireless gaming mouse with fast DAKOTA switches

Gaming hardware manufacturer Mad Catz has announced the new R.A.T. DWS wireless gaming mouse. The manufacturer promises responsive, mechanical DAKOTA switches and the mouse is said to offer numerous customization options for the discerning gamer.

Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS: High-resolution sensor and many customization options

The Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS gaming mouse features a high-resolution PAW3335DB sensor with 16,000 DPI, so it should offer enough performance for gamers. It could also be interesting for gamers in that it can be adapted to numerous gaming situations due to its modular components. Whether small hands or large hands – different grip styles are comfortably possible via interchangeable palm and pinky rests. The finger rests also feature a non-slip surface, allowing for reliable handling even after several hours. The matching Mad-Catz software allows an individual assignment of the total of 14 buttons with various functions and macros. These can then be saved in four profiles on the mouse itself.

R.A.T. DWS first wireless mouse to feature new DAKOTA mechanical switches

The Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS is the first wireless mouse to incorporate Mad Catz’s new DAKOTA mechanical switches. These switches feature new signal detection technology that triggers an immediate response upon contact with one of two touch points. This precise signal processing allows the switches to have a particularly fast response time of under two milliseconds. The manufacturer states that this is about 60 percent faster than competing mechanical switches. Wireless connection to the PC is achieved in two ways with the R.A.T. DWS: either via 2.4 GHz dongle (with response times of 1 ms) or via Bluetooth 5.0 (for optimized power consumption). With a single AA battery, Mad Catz promises a runtime of up to 300 hours.

Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS: Price and Availability

The Mad Catz R.A.T. DWS is scheduled to hit the market in early February 2021. The exact availability will depend on the corresponding region. The recommended retail price will be $119.99.
