Mustang Mach-E receives extensive improvements

With the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the iconic US manufacturer has successfully brought its prestige model into the all-electric age. Now Ford claims to have made the sporty electric speedster even better.

Ford Mustang Mach-E gets more range, among other things

A lot has changed in the latest model series of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Not only the range has been improved. This has now increased to a maximum of 514 km, which is quite impressive. Compared to the previous model, this is a major improvement. This model could only reach a maximum of 482 km.

The reason for the improved endurance is not only the revised rear engine. On top of this, the entire system should now work much more efficiently, which reduces fuel consumption. In addition to the sheer range, the charging time of the electric car has also been improved. In the version with the large battery, it should take just under 36 minutes for the charge level to rise from 10 to 80%. This means it charges around 9 minutes faster.

GT version with more power and rally version

Anyone who buys a Mustang also expects corresponding performance. Ford knows this, which is why the Mach-E GT has also been revised as part of the update. Among other things, the sports version of the electric car should now be able to accelerate faster from 0 to 100. Although this is said to be “only” an improvement of half a second, this is definitely worth reporting given the already short acceleration times.

For the US market, the values for covering the so-called quarter mile (approx. 402 m) should be of particular interest. The sporty E-Mustang is said to need just 11.8 seconds for this. The speed after covering over 400 m is again said to be 183 km/h. Not only the performance data are new, but also the selection of available versions.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT is now to be given a special rally version. This will not only be visually reminiscent of off-road sport, but will also meet the technical requirements. Among other things, a seat elevation of 2.5 cm should ensure off-road capability.

Unfortunately, there are still some unknowns about the new Mach-E. For example, we know nothing about the German release date. Ford has also not yet named any prices. Furthermore, we can’t really put the range figures in relation to the previous models. After all, these are not values according to the standard WLTP specification. Nevertheless, the initial information sounds like commendable, extensive improvements.
