MWC 2023: Segway Ninebot presents many innovations

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is no longer just a showcase for new smartphones and tablets. In the meantime, the trade show in Barcelona has become a technology fair of international scope. So it’s no surprise that even Segway-Ninebot was there. The expert for micromobility not only presented new KickScooters at the fair. On top of that, the company showed a new e-scooter and even a go-kart.

Segway-Ninebot expands product portfolio

Segway-Ninebot looks back on successful years. At least one should be pleased at management level of the company about the high sales figures. In the context of the MWC the manufacturer let announce that one could sell meanwhile the proud number of 10 million Kickscooter. The expert for micromobility obviously wants to use this as an opportunity to set out for new shores. With its presence at the MWC alone, Segway-Ninebot is underlining the significance of e-scooters and co. And the company is by no means an exotic in this respect. Xiaomi also presented a new motorized scooter at the MWC with its Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra.

Segway-Ninebot MAX G2

As part of the product offensive, four new kick scooters are to be launched, among others. The Segway Ninebot MAX G2 makes the beginning thereby. According to the manufacturer, this should be able to offer probably the most pleasant driving experience. The MAX G2 uses a drive motor with 900 watts of power. This is located in the rear wheel hub and is supposed to give the kick scooter enough power to master even slopes of 22 percent.

The manufacturer also seems particularly proud of its tires. These measure 10 inches in diameter and are said to be able to offer a longer range thanks to their tubeless and self-sealing design. Here, Segway-Ninebot apparently makes use of the brand-new in-house technology RideyLong. This is said to allow up to 70 km on a full battery charge, putting the MAX G2 on par with Xiaomi’s new launch.

Segway-Ninebot F2, F2 Plus and F2 Pro

In addition, Segway-Ninebot presented the F2 series consisting of a total of three different kick scooters. Namely, these are F2, F2 Plus and F2 Pro. The three different versions differ on the one hand in their range. While the two top models are supposed to manage up to 55 km, the F2 probably only manages 40 km with a complete battery charge, according to Segway Ninebot. On top of that, the F2 Pro offers front wheel suspension. This is primarily intended to provide high ride comfort on uneven surfaces.

As with the Max G2, all three versions use the 10-inch self-sealing and tubeless tires. Connoisseurs of the predecessor of the F2 will certainly notice the modified handlebars. Here Segway-Ninebot would like to have provided by a wider design for more stability. The flashing function is supposed to ensure safety in road traffic. You can activate the direction indicator by simply pressing a button on the handlebar. This is reminiscent of the Urtopia Carbon One (test).

Segway Ninebot C2 and E2

Last but not least, two kick scooters for youngsters are to be launched with the new C2 series. Particularly practical is the control option for parents. The C2 and C2 Pro can be limited in their maximum speed via the appropriate app. This, coupled with a robust frame and drum brakes, should ensure sufficient safety in road traffic. In the long run, the C2 Pro seems to be the smarter choice. After all, Segway-Ninebot designs the stem here so that the scooter can grow with it.

Those who are making their personal debut in the field of kick scooters and don’t want to spend too much money should be happy with the new E2 series. Here Segway-Ninebot wants to rely on cheaper hollow tires. These are not only supposed to score with longevity. On top of that, they should be able to absorb shocks better. The double braking system also makes it clear that this is probably the favorable entry-level model for people who want to celebrate their premiere in the field of e-scooters and do not want to rely entirely on engine power.

Segway Ninebot E300SE

In addition to new kick scooters, the E300 SE is also a brand new e-scooter that aims to score points especially with fast acceleration and long range. Within just 2.89 seconds, you should be able to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h with the electric scooter. The battery is said to offer a range of up to 130 km, about 50 percent more than its predecessor. This is probably made possible by the third optional battery, which is located under the seat.

A top speed of 105 km/h also sounds promising. Safety is to be ensured by a battery management system, ABS and intelligent traction control, among other things. Hydraulic disc brakes are to be used on the front and rear wheels. The comfortable seats are supposed to ensure seating comfort. The so-called Airlock system sounds practical. This is in RideyGo! and makes among other things the switching on and off by Bluetooth interface possible.

Segway-Ninebot Go-kart Pro

Last but not least, the company introduced a real fun device. The Gokart PRO has been awaited by fans of the manufacturer for quite some time now. Now Ninebot has announced the release in Europe and at the same time made it clear that this is to be a “completely redesigned version of its predecessor”. The vehicle can be used by both children and adults.

To this end, the manufacturer is relying on a high degree of adaptability. The driving pleasure is also to be individual. This is ensured by a total of four driving modes that can be regulated in the app. The company mentions a safe mode and a racing mode as examples. In view of a maximum speed of 40 km/h, the racing mode in particular should probably provide a lot of fun.

Prices and availability

Segway-Ninebot is hanging pretty far out the window with its new announcements. However, should the manufacturer be able to keep its promises, we can expect some really exciting new products here. Unfortunately, it is still uncertain at which price the kick scooter, e-scooter and go-kart will be launched. However, we have already received a rough release date from the manufacturer. The new models should reach the European market within the first half of 2023. For more information on the new models, it’s worth taking a look at the official website.
