The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is expanding its portfolio of e-scooters with a new model. It goes by the name of Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max and expands the already available Pro model with a higher speed, range, motor power and much more.
Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max announced
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 series already has four models, and now the 4, 4 Lite, 4 Pro and 4 Ultra variants are being joined by another e-scooter with some exciting new technical features.
It goes by the name of Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max and is positioned between the Pro and Ultra models in terms of features. Under the hood is a powerful motor with a rated continuous output of 400 watts, which can even deliver up to 960 watts for short periods to master particularly steep inclines.
The e-scooter should be able to manage gradients of up to 22 percent without any problems. The maximum speed for the German market is still limited to 20 km/h, with a choice of three speed modes.
On the other hand, the Pro Max also increases the range compared to the previous Pro model. The manufacturer promises a range of up to 60 kilometers, another 5 km more than the Pro.
The battery is fully charged in around nine hours, although Xiaomi also offers a separate quick charger that charges the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max to 100 percent in just 3 hours.
Higher weight, more comfort
With a tare weight of 21.3 kg, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max has increased significantly compared to the Pro with 17 kg. This is mainly due to the robust steel frame, which comes in a new golden color scheme.
The new e-scooter also features dual-cylinder suspension on the front fork, which is designed to ensure a comfortable ride even on rough terrain. 10-inch puncture-proof tires and a braking system including E-ABS in the front wheel and a mechanical drum brake in the rear wheel provide additional safety.
On the handlebars, the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max has indicators on the left and right, as well as a display in the middle that provides information about speed, battery power and more.
The so-called “Auto light mode”, which automatically switches on the headlights when it gets darker in the surrounding area, provides additional safety. The e-treadle can of course be paired with the Xiaomi Home app, which offers a wide range of settings.
The Pro Max is also protected against dust and water damage in accordance with IPX4 and can be folded up to save space. With a length of 1,179 mm, it is even slightly smaller than the 4 Ultra and 4 Pro. According to the manufacturer, the maximum load capacity is 110 kg.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro Max is already listed on the manufacturer’s official website. In addition, the new e-scooter can already be found in the online stores of MediaMarkt and Saturn, which list it at a price of 599.99 euros. This would even make it slightly cheaper than the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro.
Neither the manufacturer nor the online stores have yet given an availability date. Based on the listing, however, the new e-scooter from Xiaomi is unlikely to be too long in coming. Xiaomi is thus continuing its efforts in the field of electromobility.
Just a few days ago, the company officially unveiled its first e-car, the Xiaomi SU7, at MWC 2024 and also showed off its new flagship camera smartphone, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
