OnePlus 9 series officially presented

OnePlus unveiled its two latest smartphones on March 23. Besides the OnePlus 9 5G, the OnePlus 9 Pro 5G is also part of this year’s lineup. We want to take a look at the technical highlights of the two upcoming smartphones.

2021 stands for innovations

The company itself has a lot planned for this year’s generation of its OnePlus smartphones. The completely redesigned camera is clearly the proverbial focus. It has been the company’s Achilles’ heel for years. Now the smartphone experts want to rely on a camera made in Sweden. The camera from the Swedish manufacturer Hasselblad is supposed to provide nice snapshots in the bright and in the dark. Apart from the camera performance, OnePlus has always been able to show off. This does not seem to change this year. The specs alone show that OnePlus does not have to hide behind the flagships from Apple or Samsung with its 9 series.

Hasselblad camera for great photos

OnePlus clearly focuses on the camera this year. It comes from the Swedish manufacturer Hasselblad and has already caused quite a stir in the run-up. The camera manufacturer is by no means a blank slate – quite the contrary. For example, the traditional Swedish company has already provided a camera for filming Neil Armstrong’s moon landing.

The camera module of the OnePlus 9 includes a main camera with 48 MP, a wide-angle camera with 50 MP, and a telephoto and monochrome camera. OnePlus promises nothing less than groundbreaking results for the interaction of the individual modules. The automatic color calibration is also supposed to ensure that.

High-resolution display with 120 Hz

OnePlus itself refers to its latest generation as the so-called Fluid Display 2.0, which measures 6.7 inches in the Pro model and 6.55 inches in the classic model and relies on a high-contrast AMOLED panel. Thanks to a refresh rate of 120 Hz, you do not have to put up with any jerks when scrolling. AMOLED has always stood for breathtaking picture reproduction. This seems to be the case this time as well. Besides the high contrasts, the OnePlus 9 should also be able to set new standards in terms of color accuracy. Thus, even shot photos should be able to be reproduced true to detail and in realistic colors.

Warp Charge 65T

OnePlus has shaped smartphone battery charging like no other company. They were the first to enable Fast Charging. Now they are taking it to a new level. With the help of Warp Charge, you should be able to fully charge the OnePlus 9 within 15 minutes. Warp Charge 65T makes it possible. But that is only one way to charge the new smartphone.

The wireless alternative called Warp Charge Wireless 50 charges the smartphone from 0 to 70 percent within 30 minutes – also impressive. However, you will not have to charge the battery too often anyway. OnePlus claims that the new display consumes 50% less power than the predecessor. In view of a refresh rate of 120 Hz, that sounds really impressive.

A lot of power under the hood

Of course, both new smartphones feature 5G. But aside from the latest mobile standard, there are other exciting specs to discover. That starts with the processor, of course. OnePlus does not compromise and gives the OnePlus 9 the Snapdragon 888 5G from Qualcomm. This is supposed to provide a performance increase of 25 percent compared to the OnePlus 8.

With the help of this power, OxygenOS version 11 should flicker across the screen as smoothly as never before. Another highlight of the equipment is probably the built-in Alexa support. This will certainly please owners of corresponding smart home products. However, Alexa is not only supposed to control smart devices in the house. It can also be used to make calls and formulate messages.

Prices and availability

Are we really surprised that OnePlus once again has a hot iron in the fire this spring? With the now 9th generation of its popular smartphones, the Chinese company seems to have shown a lot of courage to innovate. This concerns the camera first and foremost. OnePlus charges an MSRP of 699 Euros for the OnePlus 9 with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. For an MSRP of 799 Euros, there is 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The OnePlus 9 Pro comes in at 899 Euros for 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. With 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, the MSRP is 999 Euros. If you are interested, you can buy it on the official website of OnePlus.
