Philips TAG5106: Wireless gaming headset with LED lighting and 45 hours of battery life

Philips has unveiled a new wireless gaming headset. The Philips TAG5106 relies on large drivers, dual wireless connectivity, LED lighting, and up to 45 hours of battery life, and all for just around $100.

The Philips TAG5106 in detail

The Philips TAG5106 is an exciting new wireless gaming headset that awaits you, although it is not yet part of the Philips Evnia lineup launched in October. Still, the new headset relies on a unique design and high-quality specs.

For instance, the TAG5106 is equipped with 50 mm drivers that reach an impedance of 32 ohms at a frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz. The headset relies on DTS Headphone:X 2.0 to deliver 7.1 surround sound and is said to score with rich bass and clear, spacious sound.

In addition, there is a unidirectional microphone with noise cancellation that is supposed to provide clear communication and can also be detached to use the headset as headphones for listening to music.

The design of the headset is also unique, as it appears to be made of one piece. The hexagonal ear cups seem to merge directly into the headband and have an illuminated strip with LED lighting on the outside.

Connectivity and battery life

The Philips TAG5106 relies on dual wireless connectivity and can connect to various devices via 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth (version 5.2). Alternatively, the headset connects via a 3.5 mm jack cable.

The manufacturer speaks of connectivity to PC, Mac and PlayStation consoles in wireless mode, as well as to most other platforms via jack or Bluetooth. Switching between the operating modes is done at the push of a button.

In addition, the battery life is quite long: The Philips TAG5106 is supposed to last up to 45 hours, charged via USB Type-C. The elegant, award-winning ergonomic design of the Philips TAG5106 with its adaptive headband and ear pads made of artificial leather and memory foam ensures pleasant, long-lasting wearing comfort.

Price and Availability

The Philips TAG5106 wireless gaming headset is available now at a recommended retail price of €99.90. For more details, visit the Philips product website.
