Razer recently introduced a new version of the Lancehead Wireless gaming mouse, launched in 2017. The recommended retail price of Razer Lancehead Wireless is 150 Euro. Compared to its predecessor, the manufacturer promises a better sensor and a longer battery life.
Razer has not changed the ergonomics of the mouse, which is completely symmetrical in terms of both design and key arrangement. So the mouse can still be used by left-handers without any problems. The primary keys should have a lifetime of at least 50 million clicks. A total of 10 keys are built in, but one of them on the underside for changing the resolution.
The new PixArt PMW-3389 optical sensor offers a maximum resolution of 16,000 dpi. Thanks to good acceleration and speed values, the mouse also cuts a fine figure in fast games. The battery life should be “about 50 hours”, which is twice the life of the previous generation. However, the company does not provide any concrete information because the “battery life depends on user behaviour”. The mouse is loaded via a 2.10 meter long cable, which also enables wired operation.
Configuration via Razers Synapse software
The settings of the mouse are done via Razers Synapse-Software. The software, which can be used in the current third version without user account, allows the control of the resolution and color as well as the effects of the LED lighting. In supported games, the mouse can render in-game events in color using special effects. The internal memory makes it possible to create five profiles, which are also backed up online in the Razer Cloud.
As an alternative to the very expensive Razer Lancehead Wireless, Razer also offers the 99 Euro Mamba Wireless, whose shape is only suitable for right-handers.
