Razer Nommo V2: New line-up of PC speakers with RGB lighting

In 2018, Razer introduced its first own PC speaker system with Nommo. Now, a new edition follows with the Razer Nommo V2: The lineup includes three models, which can be used with or without a subwoofer, RGB lighting, and extensive connectivity.

The Razer Nommo V2 Line-up

Razer updates its PC speakers with the Razer Nommo V2 line-up. It is composed of three models: The flagship Razer Nommo V2 Pro is a full-range speaker with wireless subwoofer and THX Spatial Audio. The Nommo V2 is a desktop speaker with a wired subwoofer, while the Nommo V2 X 2.0 speakers provide a minimalist setup. At its core, the lineup is somewhat reminiscent of the SteelSeries Arena 9, 7 and 3 speakers.

Razer Nommo V2 Pro

The top-of-the-line model in the form of the Razer Nommo V2 Pro comes with 3-inch full-range drivers with aluminum phase plugs that are supposed to deliver natural and crystal-clear sound. This is joined by a wireless downfire subwoofer that realizes a deep and room-filling bass.

Razer Chroma RGB lighting on the back illuminates the wall behind the speakers and monitors for added immersion:

“The Nommo V2 series isn’t just about the acoustics-it’s about experiencing and immersing yourself in gaming. Whether you want to follow the enemy’s steps in a first-person shooter or lose yourself in the soundtrack of the latest role-playing game, our new PC gaming speakers provide an incredibly immersive audiovisual experience,” reveals Barrie Ooi, Head of Razer’s PC Gaming Division.

This is joined by THX Spatial Audio, which is supposed to provide immersive surround sound. THX Game Profile optimizes the sound in terms of the equalizer and tunes it to different games. Cyberpunk 2077 and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak make the start, many other titles are to follow.

Razer’s control pod for operation

For convenient control with seamless connectivity, Razer is introducing the Razer Wireless Control Pod. It comes with a rotating and clickable dial and offers one-touch source switching. Volume, play/pause, EQ and more can be controlled with it.

Connectivity is via Bluetooth, and the Control Pod is said to last up to eight months before running out of juice. The Razer Wireless Control Pod is included with the Nommo V2 Pro and will be available as a separate accessory for the Nommo V2 and Nommo V2 X in August.

Nommo V2 and V2 X

Ranking below the Pro model are the Rater Nommo V2 and Nommo V2 X speaker systems. The Nommo V2 comes with a wired subwoofer and has Razer Chroma RGB rear projection. The V2 X comes as a compact 2.0 speaker system and focuses on a minimalist design.

The entire Razer Nommo V2 lineup is compatible with PC, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
