Razer Viper V3 Pro: New gaming mouse relies on 8,000 Hz and 35,000 DPI

With the Razer Viper V3 Pro, the peripheral manufacturer has introduced a new wireless gaming mouse that succeeds the V2 Pro (our test). It has a polling rate of up to 8,000 Hz, a 35,000 DPI sensor and weighs just 54 grams.

The Razer Viper V3 Pro in detail

The new Razer Viper V3 Pro is aimed at professionals for whom the maximum is just good enough. The gaming mouse weighs just 54 grams, making it even lighter than its impressive predecessor from 2022.

The 2nd generation Focus Pro optical sensor is installed, which now has a sensitivity of 35,000 DPI and a maximum speed of 750 IPS with 70G acceleration. A total of six programmable buttons are installed, while the optical switches are designed for a service life of 90 million clicks.

Another highlight is the polling rate, which can be extended to a whopping 8,000 hertz in wireless mode with the Razer HyperPolling Wireless Dongle . At the same time, a wireless click latency of just 0.461 ms is possible.

Improvements in design and runtime

Since October 2023, the prototype has been put through its paces by over 45 professional players at five major tournaments to ensure that the mouse is suitable for even the most demanding competitive conditions,” promises the manufacturer.

Among other things, the PTFE gel feet on the underside have been enlarged, while the surface is now even smoother and the DPI button has been moved to the underside. The innovative new feature “automatic polling rate change” automatically adjusts the polling rate during the game to minimize the impact on battery life without affecting the gaming experience.

Up to 95 hours of runtime at 1,000 Hz are possible. At 2,000 Hz, the runtime drops to 62 hours, and at a full 8,000 Hz, only 17 hours of battery life are possible. Charging is via USB-C.

DPI settings are possible in 1 DPI increments, while Smart Tracking can adapt the lift-off distance to the respective mouse pad.
