With the Syn Pro Air, Roccat has not presented just any new premium headset, but its first model with 3D sound. The wireless headset, which was produced in cooperation with Turtle Beach, is now intensively promoted by the manufacturer as a new top product. Turtle Beach acquired Roccat in 2019.
First 3D headset from Roccat
Roccat is breaking new ground with the Syn Pro Air, saying goodbye to 7.1 surround sound. With the 3D sound offered by the new headset, sounds can be located not only to the right, left, front and back, but also up and down. This makes the sound reproduction even more precise, which can give ambitious gamers further advantages. Responsible for the sound are the 50 mm Nanoclear drivers from Turtle Beach. Also integrated is the Superhuman Hearing setting, which amplifies particularly important sounds – such as approaching footsteps – so that they are by no means overheard.
Stellar wireless technology for 24-hour operation
The headset is further equipped with Stellar Wireless Technology, which permanently controls and regulates both the signal strength and the power consumption of the headset. This is said to enable 24 hours of continuous headset operation on a single battery charge. In addition, the Syn Pro Air features a quick charge function that provides a battery charge sufficient for five hours of operation within fifteen minutes.
Typical Roccat design with AIMO light system
Visually, the new headset hardly differs from the manufacturer’s previous ones. It has a robust and angular design. It is illuminated by the AIMO lighting system, which offers up to 16.8 million colors and allows individual lighting settings. In terms of design, Roccat also relies on ProSpecs padding from Turtle Beach, which is supposed to make it more comfortable to use the headset with glasses, as well as memory foam, which is supposed to ensure wearing comfort. Also offered are a breathable as well as moisture-regulating textile cover, controls on the ear cups and a TrueSpeak microphone with mute option.
Price and availability
The new 3D headset will be available from June 20 for 149.99 euros.
