Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with In-Screen Fingerprint Sensor

Samsung has indirectly confirmed that the upcoming Galaxy S10 will have a fingerprint sensor integrated in the display. An in-display fingerprint sensor is not available on the cheaper Lite version of the Galaxy S10 for cost reasons, instead the sensor is mounted on the side.

According to a report of XDA developers, this long known information could be verified, because in the source code of Samsung Pay corresponding hints were found. However, this has still not been officially confirmed by Samsung.

The integrated fingerprint sensor will probably be installed in the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 Plus, Galaxy S10 X models. The lateral fingerprint sensor of the Lite version is to be integrated in the on/off button in the frame.

The official launch of the new Galaxy generation will take place on 20 February. Nevertheless, it is considered certain that the in-display fingerprint sensor uses ultrasonic technology. It should also be possible to measure the user’s heartbeat and blood flow in order to have an additional protective measure.
