Shure Aonic Free: True Wireless Earbuds officially available

Manufacturer Shure is a household name, especially for audio enthusiasts. After all, the manufacturer’s studio microphones and headphones are among the most popular devices for professional musicians and producers. With the Shure Aonic Free, they release the first True Wireless Earbuds, whose specifications are more than respectable on paper.

Shure Aonic Free: True Wireless Earbuds launch in Germany

The Shure Aonic Free were developed based on the company’s years of experience with musicians and, according to the manufacturer, tested in the studio. They are supposed to score sonically, especially with their clear music reproduction with impressive bass.

They do not, however, feature active noise cancellation (ANC), though Shure promises convincing passive isolation from outside noise through the included Comply foam earplugs in three sizes.

The focus of the Shure Aonic Free is clearly on the audio quality, which can be extensively customized using the Shure Play app. For example, there are several equalizer presets to choose from, while you can also create your own EQ settings. The setting is saved directly on the earphones and is thus also available in other apps or on other devices.

Bluetooth 5 and smart environment mode

The Aonic Free radio via Bluetooth 5, supporting major audio codecs such as Qualcomm aptX, AAC and SBC. In Environment Mode, you can also hear the environment amplified. It is activated with the press of a button on the earphones or even automatically when the music playback is paused with the active PausePlus function.

Up to 21 hours of battery life with the transport case is offered, with the TWS earbuds themselves said to last around seven hours. Thanks to the quick charge function, the Aonic Free are ready for an hour of music playback in just 15 minutes of charging time.

At the same time, the Shure Aonic Free rely on an elegant and compact design that ensures a high wearing comfort. Visually, the in-ears are somewhat reminiscent of the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds (our review). The robust construction should even be able to withstand sweat, but there is no IP certification as protection against water and moisture.

The Earbuds are controlled via touch. The built-in beamforming microphones in stereo quality are supposed to cut a good figure during phone calls or video conferences.

Price and Availability

The Shure Aonic Free True-Wireless Earbuds are now available in the colors gray and red in Germany. Here, the manufacturer’s MSRP is 199.00 euros. The gray variant is even listed on Amazon for 194.03 Euros, the red model for the recommended price of 199 Euros.
