Steam Deck is now available without queue, docking station started

Finally, Valve’s gaming handheld Steam Deck is available without a queue. Until now, you had to join the queue to get your hands on one of the coveted devices. At least two of the three models are now directly available.

The gaming handheld Steam Deck from Valve started in February 2022 in the sale. To secure one of the devices, however, bordered on a test of patience, because without long queues went – due to the enormous demand – nothing.

That is changing as of now, at least for two of the three models. The manufacturer has ramped up production in the past few months, so the handheld can now be ordered directly and will arrive at your home in one to two weeks.

Currently, this only applies to the two larger models with 256 GB NVMe SSD storage and 512 GB storage, respectively. The smallest and naturally cheapest model with 64 GB of storage still requires registration and can probably be ordered in October to December 2022.

However, we can only speculate whether this has to do with the variant using eMMC storage compared to a widely available NVMe SSD.

Buy Steam Deck: This distinguishes the models

Besides the storage space, there are other differences in the three model variants of the Steam Deck, but they are rather negligible. The cheapest model is offered for 419.00 Euros and also includes a carrying case.

The medium variant with 256 GB of storage relies on a faster storage interface thanks to NVMe SSD and also comes with an exclusive Steam Community Profile bundle. It is priced at 549.00 euros.

The most expensive variant comes in at 679.00 euros and adds to the features of the middle model with a virtual keyboard in an exclusive design, as well as a higher-quality anti-reflective and etched display.

Steam Deck docking station finally available

There is also positive news in the case of the Steam Deck docking station. This one already received an update in April 2022 with faster USB ports. After the specs update, all three USB-A ports are declared to be version 3.1, confirming speeds of 5 Gbps (versus a maximum of 480 Mbps with version 2.0).

However, the dock was not yet available at the time, which is now also changing. So now finally the price is also fixed, if you want to use the Steam Deck on the TV or monitor. With a delivery time of 1-2 weeks, the Steam Deck docking station lands at your home and hits with a price of 99,00 Euro.
