The new results of the Steam Hardware & Software Survey are now available and provide some surprising results on the equipment used by gamers on the most important platform for PC gaming.

According to the survey, an outstanding 58.08 percent of all users still play in a 1080p resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. QHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixels) follows in second place with 18.72%, while just 3.73% of all users play in 4K with 3,840 x 2,160 pixels.

For multi-monitor setups, on the other hand, the resolution of 3,840 x 1,080 pixels dominates with 57.80%, followed by 4,480 x 1,440 with 23.72%.

Around 50 percent of Steam users also still use Windows 10 64-bit. Compared to the previous survey, however, Windows 11 64-bit increased by around 1 percent and is now just behind with 46.08 percent. The shares of macOS X (1.47 percent) and Linux (2.32 percent) are negligible.
