In addition to its gaming subscription Apple Arcade, the iPhone group also presented the Apple TV+ streaming service at its keynote event, which will appear in autumn.
According to Tom Cook, Apple has invested a “billion amount” in the paid subscription service with which not only purchased content, but also TV series, feature films and documents are to be created on their own.

In order to prevail against the Netflix and Amazon Prime Video services already established on the market, Apple relies above all on well-known names from Hollywood. So far it is known that among others Spielberg, J. J. Abrams, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston and M. Night Shyamalan will be in front of Apple’s camera or directing.
Some trailers of the exclusive content have already been published.
However, rumours that Apple device owners were allowed to stream content free of charge did not come true. They must also take out a subscription in order to access the content. Apple has not yet mentioned the prices during the presentation. The streaming service is scheduled to appear in 100 countries worldwide, including Germany, in time for its release next autumn. The price will probably be announced in September shortly before the release at the upcoming iPhone event.
Even people without Apple hardware can subscribe to Apple TV+ via the TV app. Playback is possible via a range of Smart TVs and third-party streaming sticks.
