TEAMGROUP MP33Q and T-FORCE VULCAN Z QLC SSDs introduced

Manufacturer TEAMGROUP has introduced two new QLC SSDs that should satisfy the demands of those who need more storage space. Specifically, these are the TEAMGROUP MP33Q M.2 PCIe SSD and the TEAMGROUP T-FORCE VULCAN Z QLC SSD.

TEAMGROUP MP33Q and T-FORCE VULCAN Z QLC unveiled

The new TEAMGROUP MP33Q and T-FORCE VULCAN Z QLC SSDs rely on advanced 3D QLC NAND Flash and SLC cache technology and come with maximum capacities of 2 terbaytes and 4 terabytes, respectively.

The MP33Q is an M.2 SSD that is connected via PCIe Gen 3×4 and uses NVMe 1.3. It achieves up to 2500 MB/s in sequential read and 2100 MB/s in write. Thus, the inexpensive SSD is supposed to be five times superior to classic SATA III SSDs in terms of speed.

The M.2 SSD is also available in 512 GB and 1 terabyte sizes on request, which also has an impact on the lifespan in TBW and performance in IOPS. The 512 GB model offers 120 TBW, and the 2 TB version offers a maximum of 480 TBW, which is also the highest performance with 220K IOPS for reading and 410K IOPS for writing.

The TEAMGROUP T-FORCE VULCAN Z QLC SSD, on the other hand, relies on a SATA III 6 GB/s interface including QLC flash and thus achieves up to 550 MB/s read and 500 MB/s write. The SATA SSD is offered with 2 terabyte and 4 terabyte storage capacity, which are also more durable with 500 TBW and 900 TBW, respectively.

Both models support Windows TRIM and SMART Health Monitoring technology to extend the lifespan via monitoring.

Prices and Availability

The TEAMGROUP MP33Q and T-FORCE VULCAN Z QLC SSDs are expected to be available in stores from April 2023. However, the manufacturer has not revealed prices yet. More details can be found on the websites of the MP33Q and VULCAN Z QLC SSD.
