Tesla: Full Self Driving bald auch in China?

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, was on a visit to China. Apparently he was able to achieve a breakthrough. According to rumors, the autopilot feature Full Self Driving (FSD) will soon be available in China. Are things looking up again for the company?

Tesla soon with FSD in China

The Chinese market is now considered one of the most important in the world for car manufacturers. If you want to be commercially successful and play with the big players, you have to score points here. However, it is becoming increasingly popular among the Chinese to buy domestic brands such as BYD or Nio. This makes it all the more difficult for Western manufacturers to assert themselves here. Tesla could now have provided a new selling point for its electric cars.

According toreports from the Bloomberg news agency, the company has received approval for its FSD driver assistance system. This could soon also be used in Teslas used in China. This is by no means a matter of course. After all, the use of the feature inevitably requires permanent monitoring of the system. However, Tesla appears to be relying on the support of Chinese companies for the navigation system and data protection-related matters.

Is Musk making a comeback?

Tesla has by no means had any successes to announce recently. Rather, the company was on the verge of economic difficulties. The Chinese deal could now mean a turnaround. After all, the car manufacturer has a strong sales argument on its side with its driving assistant. Experience shows that Chinese makes have so far been equipped with fairly rudimentary features in the field of autonomous driving.

If things pick up again now, this could be good news not only for the shareholders and company management of the electric car manufacturer. The workforce should also be pleased. After all, it can be assumed that the planned wave of redundancies may then be less extensive. In view of a renewed increase in Chinese demand, this should at least apply to the plant in Shanghai.
