Tesla Giga Factory Grünheide production stop: assembly lines stand still for 2 weeks

The assembly lines at the Tesla Gigafactory in Grünheide will still be at a standstill in July 2022. For a total of two weeks, there will be a complete production stop from 11.07. to 22.07.2022 inclusive.

Tesla Giga Factory Grünheide production stop for 2 weeks

Between July 11 and July 22 inclusive, manufacturing will cease at the Tesla Giga Factory Grünheide due to a production stop, reports RBB. However, the break in operations had already been planned for some time, as the website TeslaMag reported back in May of this year.

The reason for the pause is a changeover within production to improve and adjust processes. The main goal is to be able to produce faster in the “gigantic money-burning open green heath” (according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk) in the future.

The stated goal is to reduce the production speed by one sixth. Currently, it takes twice as much time per station as originally planned anyway, according to TeslaMag.

The final inspection of the produced Tesla Model Y is to take place directly in the individual areas after the production stop and no longer after the completion of production.

Always new problems around Tesla Grünheide

The Tesla Giga Factory Grünheide has been the focus of the media again and again since work began. After proudly inaugurating the new factory, problems have been piling up since the gates opened. Most recently, there was trouble because of poor production, which resulted in significantly delayed delivery dates for customers.

In April of this year, there was a grave incident involving the leakage of water-polluting paint, among other things. In addition, the German Gigafactory of the U.S. carmaker lacks personnel, because Tesla apparently pays too little salary compared to its competitors on the market.

Let’s hope that production will finally run more smoothly and quickly after the two-week break in July and that there will be far fewer problems at the Tesla Gigafactory Grünheide from now on.
