Tesla Roadster to arrive in 2025

Some electric cars on the market already boast breathtaking acceleration. However, the Tesla Roadster aims to eclipse previous records and accelerate from 0 to almost 100 km/h in under a second. Tesla boss Elon Musk has now announced a release for 2025.

Tesla Roadster with new acceleration record

Tesla fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Tesla Roadster since 2017. Now, seven years later, there is finally a date for the market launch. Production is set to start this year so that delivery could probably take place in 2025. The unique selling point already seems to be clear.

As if the 2.1 seconds that a Tesla Model S Plaid needs to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h were not enough, the US manufacturer is now going one better. The Tesla Roadster should need less than a second to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (approx. 97 km/h). It is therefore not surprising that Tesla claims to have worked with the rocket experts at SpaceX during development.

The focus on acceleration also seems to be the reason why the Roadster has been postponed several times. Originally, the sleek speedster was supposed to go on sale in 2020. Apparently, however, work on the speed record has been in full swing.

If Tesla hadn’t proven with its Cybertruck that a vehicle development can still be brought to market even after many postponements of the release date, industry experts would certainly have long since pronounced the Tesla Roadster dead. But this electric car seems anything but dead. In fact, it is set to be a real spectacle when it is unveiled. At least the controversial tech billionaire and Tesla boss Elon Musk is making these big noises at X.

Also a price record

Unfortunately, the Tesla Roadster will not only break a record in terms of acceleration. It will also take first place in terms of price. At least within the company. After all, as things stand at present, the fast electric speedster will be launched at a price of just under 250,000 US dollars. According to the industry experts at Autocar, however, Tesla is unlikely to be able to keep to the originally announced price. This is simply not possible in view of the technical equipment. However, Tesla will certainly comment on this issue soon.
