Vorwerk Kobold VR7: New vacuum robot should even reach corners

Manufacturer Vorwerk has introduced a new robot vacuum cleaner that is supposed to clean even hard-to-reach corners effectively with its unique design. The Vorwerk Kobold VR7 also scores with smart functions, precise object and obstacle detection and automatic navigation.

The Vorwerk Kobold VR7 in detail

Manufacturer Vorwerk is pushing into the highly competitive and increasingly popular robot vacuum market. As such, the new Vorwerk Kobold VR7 wants to take on top models from other manufacturers like the Roborock S8 and co.

A special feature of the Kobold is its D-shaped design, which is supposed to allow the smart helper to thoroughly clean even hard-to-reach corners. Two suction channels are supposed to pick up coarse and fine dirt separately, while the vacuum is supposed to cope with hard floors and carpets in equal measure.

With its low profile of just 11 centimeters, the Kobold VR7 is also said to be able to clean effectively under most furniture, while the robot is emptied and cleaned in the service station.

In addition, it is possible to create a floor plan of one’s home with the Vorwerk Kobold VR7, which improves the assistant’s automatic navigation. Precise object and obstacle detection lets the Kobold easily avoid animals, socks and other objects.

Control on the go, different modes

It should be able to negotiate carpet edges and doorsteps with ease, while automatically stopping in front of stairs. With the help of the MyKobold app, the robot vacuum can also be controlled on the go, while additional cleaning or no-go zones can be set up here.

In addition, the Vorwerk Kobold VR7 has three operating modes: while Eco mode works with reduced power, which increases the battery life to 120 minutes, even stubborn dirt doesn’t stand a chance in Max mode.

Service or charging station extra

The manufacturer offers two optional stations for the Vorwerk Kobold VR7. The CB7 charging station fully charges the robot vacuum cleaner in 3.5 hours and turns out to be particularly space-saving.

Whereas the RB7 service station is significantly larger and, in addition to charging the battery, also empties the collection bin into TÜV-tested and certified FP200 Premium filter bags. A change of the filter bag should thus ideally only be necessary once within six months.

Price and availability

The Vorwerk Kobold VR7 vacuum robot can be ordered directly from the manufacturer now. It has a recommended retail price of 999.00 euros. If purchased by June 25, 2023, there is a 30-day money-back guarantee. The VR7 and RB7 service station set has a recommended retail price of 1,399.00 euros.
