Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro (2nd Gen) and Lite presented with improvements

Xiaomi continues to work on its extremely successful line-up of e-scooters. After launching the new Pro Plus and Pro Max models at the beginning of the week, the second generation of Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro (2nd Gen) and Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen) have now been unveiled with numerous improvements.

Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro and Lite (2nd Gen): What you can expect

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro (2nd Gen) increases the power of the e-scooter from 700 watts to a whopping 1,000 watts and should therefore be able to master inclines of up to 22 percent without any problems. The e-scooter is equipped with 60 mm thick 10-inch tires, which are 6 mm wider than the first edition and should provide a more comfortable ride.

At the same time, the range has been improved and, according to the manufacturer, up to 60 km (compared to 55 km for the first generation) is now possible thanks to a 468 Wh battery. Additional safety is provided by new indicators that are integrated directly into the handlebars and headlights that switch on automatically in the dark.

The e-scooter therefore adopts the Auto light mode from the Pro Max, although the Electric Scooter 4 Pro (2nd Gen), which can also be folded up compactly, is somewhat lighter than the Pro Max version with a tare weight of 19 kg, but also has a comfortable dual-cylinder suspension.

Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen) with a new design

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen), on the other hand, has been given a refreshed design and also features 10-inch pneumatic tires and a dual braking system with E-ABS on the rear wheel. The motor has a power output of 300 watts and should be able to climb gradients of up to 15 percent.

The range has also been optimized compared to the first edition, which cost around 400 euros. Here, too, five kilometers more should now be possible. According to the manufacturer, the maximum range is 25 km. However, integrated indicators and an automatic light have to be dispensed with here, but the front headlight should be particularly bright and provide a range of up to 8 meters.

Prices and availability

Xiaomi already lists the Electric Scooter 4 Pro (2nd Gen) and the Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen) on its global website, albeit in an international version with a top speed of 25 km/h, which would not be permitted in Germany.

However, it can be assumed that both e-scooters will also make it to Germany in an adapted form. It is still unclear when this will happen and how much both models will cost. Presumably, the prices will be based on those of the 1st generation. The Electric Scooter 4 Pro started at around 800 euros and the 4 Lite at 450 euros.
