Xiaomi Outdoor Camera BW300 with 2K resolution and battery presented

The Xiaomi Outdoor Camera BW300 is a new surveillance camera that aims to impress with a color 2K image, color night vision, two-way audio and a large battery.

Xiaomi already offers a broad portfolio of surveillance cameras. With the Xiaomi Outdoor Camera BW300, it has now added another model for outdoor use. It has a 3 MP resolution with an open aperture of f/1.6 and a resolution of 2K.

It also has a color night vision mode including people, car and package detection and a wide viewing angle of 130° to cover a large area without blind spots. As an outdoor camera, it is of course IP67-certified and therefore protected against dust and rain.

Thanks to two-way audio, communication with people is possible without any problems. The highly sensitive microphones should even be able to pick up voices up to seven meters away and reproduce them clearly. There are also audio and visual warnings when the system detects movement, while an additional light is designed to deter uninvited visitors.

Up to 180 days runtime

The Xiaomi Outdoor Camera BW300 is powered by an integrated, 4,900 mAh battery, which, in combination with the power-saving nature of the camera, should offer a long runtime. A runtime of up to 180 days is possible.

However, the camera can be combined with an optional 5W solar panel and thus be prepared for continuous use. Videos and images are to be kept secure and private thanks to a security chip with AES-128 encryption.

The camera can also be combined with Alexa and Google Home, allowing it to be shown on smart displays. It can be installed either on the ceiling or on a wall. The manufacturer has not yet revealed a price or launch date for the Xiaomi Outdoor Camera BW300. However, a listing on the global homepage reveals that a release is likely to be imminent.
